Tufts Health Plan’s Blue Ribbon designation is awarded to approximately the top 25 per cent of eligible primary care and primary care/specialist providers based upon their medical group’s high performance on selected quality and cost-efficiency measures.
As of May 1, 2010, our online physician directory will be updated to reflect the updated Blue Ribbon designations.
Note: The Blue Ribbon designation is a recognition program and does not affect member benefits or member responsibility for copayments/deductibles or coinsurance.
Methodology
Additional information about the methodology used to determine the Blue Ribbon designation is available in the Blue Ribbon Designation Methodology document.
To determine Blue Ribbon designation, Tufts Health Plan utilized the clinical quality measure data and medical group definitions from Massachusetts Health Quality Partners (MHQP). Please visit the “Quality Reports” section of the MHQP Web site for further details. Under “Clinical Quality,” select “Technical Appendix” to learn more about MHQP’s methodology, and “Medical Group Performance” to see how your medical group performed for each of the quality measures.
