Update: SOA and Check Production Changes

As previously announced, Tufts Health Plan will implement changes in the production of print Statements of Account (SOAs) and checks for its commercial and Tufts Health Plan Medicare Preferred products:

• SOAs will be printed front and back, with information regarding paid, denied and pending claims on a single statement. Providers will no longer receive separate SOAs for pended claims.
• Tufts Medicare Preferred SOAs will include definitions for only those message codes appearing on the SOA.
• Statements for all Tufts Health Plan products will be combined in one envelope, possibly with statements from other payers.
• You may receive your checks on a different day of the week upon implementation.
• Checks for all Tufts Health Plan products will be printed on blue check stock.

SOA changes for all products except the commercial HMO product will occur with the August 1, 2010, checkrun. For the commercial HMO product, changes will be implemented in Q4 2010.
